Includes: Audio Commentary on All Episodes With Lisa Kudrow, Dan Bucatinsky and Don Roos Behind The Scenes Featurettes Outtakes Season 2 Preview
Lisa Kudrow stars in and executive produces the improvisational web series, Web Therapy, now available on DVD. She plays Fiona Wallace, a therapist who has invented a new kind of therapy that is only three minutes long and takes place over iChat. She feels this will eliminate unnecessary chit chat in a therapy session. Her character routinely becomes impatient with her patients.
Each episode shows her speaking directly to the camera in an iChat window set on a Mac desktop next to a corresponding iChat window, which holds the character she is counseling for that episode. The Web Therapy Season One DVD includes guest stars like Rosie O’Donnell, Lily Tomlin, Conan O’Brien, Minnie Driver and Natasha Bedingfield. Each one takes a seat to speak to the narcissistic head shrinker.
The original format and awkward dialogue is 100% Lisa Kudrow. It was her role as Phoebe Buffay, the character she brilliantly portrayed on the NBC hit comedy series FRIENDS for ten seasons that brought her worldwide recognition. For this series, Kudrow received a Special Webby Award in 2009 for Outstanding Comedic Performance; in 2010 the show won a Webby Award for Best Comedy Series and received two additional nominations including one for Kudrow for Best Individual Performance. In 2011, she won a Webby Award for Best Individual Performance and WEB THERAPY won for Best Comedy: Long Form or Series.
The tagline for the show is: “If she’s your therapist, you’ve got problems.”
Fiona Wallice is a therapist with no patience. Tired of fifty minute sessions, she devises a new kind of treatment, the three-minute video chat. And still, the sessions end up being largely about her.
